SHERMAN, TX -- Two women are behind bars, accused of stealing from a department store and then running from authorities.

Police say Shamarae Hopkins, 21, and Joylette Blanton, 21, stuffed clothes and shoes into large purses.

Sherman Sgt. Mark McRee was discussing thefts with a Kohl's employee around 3 p.m. on Tuesday, when he noticed the women on the security cameras, police Sgt. D.M. Hampton said.

The two jumped in a car and tried to get away, but were caught a short time later. Bond for each woman as set at $1,500.
