GRAYSON COUNTY, TX -- After a windy first day, sailors took advantage of the fine weather on Saturday as they charted a course on Lake Texoma.

The Texoma Sailing Club is hosting its 27th annual Lakefest Regatta at Grandpappy Point Marina. Organizers say 58 boats registered for the event, which includes several races along with a calmer "flotilla."

Preparations were underway for Saturday evening's party with a Jimmy Buffett tribute band and the theme "Wishing Away in Texomaville."

"They're actually racing, even the flotilla boats. They'll do what's called a measured start, so slower boats get to start at a different time than the faster boats, and they race off to the mark and they go," says sailing club member Tamie Odom.

Winners get trophies and bragging rights. Last year's regatta raised $30,000 for the North Texas chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
