LATTA, OK -- Donnie Husband has been named the Oklahoma Basketball Coaches Association's Willis Mackey Coach of the Year, according to the OBCA's website.
Just less than a month ago the Panther boys basketball team made the trek to Oklahoma City only to come home three days later with the program's first gold ball.
It was a testament to all of their hard work and dedication, which couldn't have been done with out their head coach.
The veteran coach led his team to a 26-3 season all culminating into the only state final appearance and championship in the school's history.
The fifth ranked team cut down the Class 2A nets in front of a State Fair Arena crowd of more than 3,000.
Husband's coached for 30 years finally getting his first gold ball.
