ADA, OK-- A man has died in a house fire just north of North of Ada. Officials said the fire broke out shortly after 5 Wednesday morning on Country Road.

Tyler Mackey, A deputy with the Ada sheriff's department, arrived first on the scene. A neighbor told Mackey that the homeowner was still inside the home at the time of the fire.

According to officials Mackey kicked down the front door and that's when he noticed 76-year-old Curtis Hughey lying on the floor. Mackey pulled Curtis out of the burning home, but said it was too late.

Officials said they're still investigating the cause of the fire. They said the man lived at the home alone and the home is a total loss.
