Former law enforcement officer arrested


PONOTOC COUNTY, OK -- A former law enforcement officer is under arrest for assault and battery. Chris Bittle was arrested Sunday night after an alleged fight with his ex-wife's boyfriend.

According to the Ponotoc County Sheriff's report, Bittle entered his ex-wife's house through a bedroom window. Once inside, deputies say, he attacked her boyfriend with a knife. When Deputies arrived they found Bittle hiding in a closet. Deputies say, Bittle lunged at them and they used a tazer to restrain him.

Deputies also believe Bittle cut the tires and scratched the hood on the boyfriend's car. Five children were in the house at the time of the alleged fight.

Bittle is being charged with assault and battery with a deadly weapon, child endangerment, domestic violence in the presence of a minor, malicious injury to property and resisting arrest.

Bittle previously worked for the Ada Police Department, Ponotoc County Sheriff's Office, Tecumseh Police Department and Seminole National Lighthorse Police Department.
