New Trees Planted In Sherman Square

SHERMAN, TX -- Something new is taking root near the Grayson County Courthouse, as more than a dozen new trees have been planted all around the square.

The saplings don't have any leaves yet and will take time to grow. Downtown Sherman Preservation and Revitalization organized a project where people paid $500 to sponsor a tree in someone's name.

Officials told us last fall that the trees will distract from the overhead electric lines, and slow down traffic.
