DENISON, TX -- A special items garage sale brought shoppers out for an event to raise money for the school band.
The Craft Fair and Garage Sale had dozens of people busy in the parking lot of Denison High School on South Mirick. People showed up to bring and shop for items including toys and clothes.
It benefits the Denison High School band, and it's the second time band boosters have held the event.
Band director Paul Onspaugh says the last event generated a couple thousand dollars for the band, and they expect double that this year, through a donation from Ford's "Drive 4 Your School" program.
For every test drive and survey with several cars from Blake Utter Ford that were at the sale, the company donates $20 to the program. Onspaugh says music helps boost the mind and this sale is important to make the band program more visible.
