ARDMORE, OK-- Mercy Hospital in Ardmore let a few high school guests shadow some of their medical professionals for the day.
It was Career Exploration Day at Mercy Hospital in Ardmore, now many high school students have theirs hearts set on pursuing careers in medicine.
When students think medical careers, they immediately think doctor or nurse, but Mercy Hospital in Ardmore gave area students the chance to see there are endless opportunities in medicine.
At Mercy's Career Exploration day high school students throughout the area get to see if their hearts are in the right direction for medical careers.
The team members at Mercy say a hands on approach is the best way to expose young people to possible careers.
Many students say the exploration day was an eye opening experience that made them want to get into medicine even more.
Studies have shown that health career awareness amongst young people is low. That's why Mercy says it will continue to open it's doors to youth desiring to go into health professions.
