GRAYSON COUNTY, TX---- A national program is recognizing seniors in the community who've made a difference. Right now, nominations are being accepted for the Home Instead Salute to Senior Service program.

Any senior, 65 or older, who has completed at least 15 volunteer hours a month qualifies to be nominated. The program is accepting nominations at www.salutetoseniorservice.com throughout the month of March.

"We're giving away $100 to the winner in the Texoma area," Sherman Home Instead Senior Care Owner Tim Dungan said. "We're going to select the winner and then they can donate the money to a nonprofit of their choice. They're also going to pick a winner in Texas that will win $500 to donate to a nonprofit of their choice."

Local and state voting will take place from April 15th through April 30th. All state winners will be included in a national competition and the winner of the national competition will receive an additional $500 to donate to a charity of their choice.
