DENISON, TX -- The battle is over and now we wait to see which city won. The two-day "Battle of the Badges" blood drive ended Thursday.

Bloodmobiles moved from Sherman to Denison to collect blood from people on behalf of the city of their choice. It's a chance to show allegiance and to help someone they'll likely never even meet.

Which city came out on top is expected to be announced Friday.

Companies and cities that donated to the United Way of Grayson County in 2012 were recognized in Sherman on Thursday.

At its annual awards ceremony, board president Patrick Rowland revealed the non-profit exceeded its fundraising goal.

"Our goal this year was $1,350,000, and our actual results were $1,355,000. So, we had a great campaign," he said.

Among the winners at the event was Denison ISD for best employee participation and Caterpillar for best overall campaign.

The Texoma Medical Center took home the trophy for being the largest company that gave the most.

It may not look like it, but people inside Texas Roadhouse were actually "locked-up".

It's all part of a fundraiser for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

For about three hours, participants tried to get friends and family -- or really anyone -- to donate before they could post "bail."
