Two Dead After Shooting in Bryan County

Posted:

BRYAN COUNTY, OK----Two people are dead after a shooting at a Bryan County home today.
Bryan County deputies say it happened around 1 p.m. at a home Northeast of Bennington, Oklahoma off U.S. Highway 70.

We're told that earlier today a fight broke out between the daughter of the woman who owns the home and the homeowner's boyfriend. Bryan County Sheriff Ken Golden said the homeowner's daughter claims she was assaulted by the homeowner's boyfriend. The homeowner's daughter apparently then told her father about the incident. The sheriff said the girl's father and a friend then went to the home to confront the homeowner's boyfriend.

"When they arrived at the house we understand that the male suspect in the house went ahead and got a firearm," Golden said. "When they came to the door he opened fire on them and right now we have two dead and one in custody."

The father died at the scene and his friend later died at a hospital.
Golden said the homeowner's boyfriend is in custody and will be charged with drug charges.

He said tomorrow District Attorney Emily Redman will review the case to see if any additional charges will be made. No names have been released. The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is also investigating.

That was delaying treatment times by at least an hour and a half. So ninety minutes extra time where the brain was starved of oxygen leads to poorer outcomes."...More >>
