If you're buying something in Oklahoma the government is taking a bigger bite than most states in the nation.
Shoppers in Oklahoma are getting hit harder by sales taxes than customers in most states Oklahoma's sales tax rate is the fifth highest in the nation according to a report released Monday by the Tax Foundation.
Only Tennessee, Arizona, Louisiana, and Washington have higher combined rates.
The average combined sales tax rate in Oklahoma is 8.67 percent and Tennessee has the highest combined rate in the nation with 9.44 percent.
