GRAPEVINE, TX -- The Texas Department of Public Safety has added Alberto Morales, 41, to the Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitive list, and a $10,000 cash reward is now offered for information leading to his capture. Morales was being transported through Texas when investigators say he stabbed a Miami detective multiple times and escaped. DPS says he should be considered extremely dangerous, and local, state, and federal authorities are actively searching for the suspect.
The escape took place at 11:20 p.m. in Grapevine when Morales allegedly stabbed the detective while being transported from Miami, Fla., to a state prison in Nevada. He received two life sentences for aggravated sexual assault. The injured officer is currently hospitalized. For more information on the suspect and the escape, please view his wanted bulletin at: http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/Texas10MostWanted/fugitiveDetails.aspx?id=183.
