POTTSBORO, TX-- Around five thirty Friday evening, the pilot of a single engine plane from Dallas planned on making a pit-stop at the North Texas Regional Airport , but never made it.
According to first responders, as the pilot prepared for landing, he realized something was wrong and that the plane wasn't going to make it to the runway. He managed to make an emergency landing in a field just northwest of the airport, even after the engine died.
Pottsboro volunteer fire and the Airport Fire department all responded to the incident. No one was hurt. Responders say the pilot should be able to take off after a mechanic checks out the aircraft.
