A Carter county man appeared in court today after he was charged with first degree rape of a family member. 55-year-old Danny Reisman's trial started yesterday and will continue on until tomorrow.

Reisman is accused of raping one of his family members back in December 2011. Several people took the stand and presented evidence to the jurors. Reisman took the stand as well as argued that it wasn't rape, it was consensual.

Others argued that the victim could not have been able to consent.

If convicted Reisman could face up to 5 years in prison without parole.
