Pregnant woman killed after car crashes into her home

DENISON -- Jennifer Comstock, 28, was killed Thursday night after the driver of a 4-door Cadillac slammed into her Denison home she lived at with her fiancé.

Friends and family members gathered outside the home Friday, and held a candlelight vigil in her honor.

The family of Comstock's fiancé says she was pregnant and was sitting on the sofa next to her fiancé when the car came crashing into their living room. Her fiancé was not visibly injured.

Witnesses say the driver of the Cadillac had been tailgating and rear-ending an SUV for blocks leading up to the crash. We're told the driver of the SUV pulled over but the driver of the Cadillac kept going into the front of the home.

Denison police say they questioned the driver of the Cadillac but released him from the scene.

"Of course, there are a lot of factors involved than that, and that's things that we have to find out during an investigation, whether or not a crime was committed, which a crime might have been committed; Evidence that will support a different crime. So, there's a lot that you have to be able to answer before you can charge anybody in any situation," Lt. Mike Eppler said.

Police say charges could still be filed pending the outcome of their investigation. They are asking anyone with information on the case to contact them.
