FANNIN COUNTY, TX--- The Farm Service Agency is now accepting applications for drought emergency farm loans. Any farmer who has lost 30% of their production due to the drought is eligible for the loan.
If eligible, you can apply for the loan by submitting an application. The deadline for applications is September 9th. The Fannin County loan manager says don't wait too long to apply because backlog will develop and cause delays.
"We can make loans for inputs into the farmer's operations based on what their losses were during that time period. We look at their disaster year yields compared to their three-years prior to the disaster year to determine how much of a loss they had," Fannin County loan manager David Dunmon said.
Counties that qualify for emergency loans include Cook, Fannin, Collin and Denton.
