SHERMAN, TX -- A man is dead after being hit by a car in Sherman Friday night.  Police are calling it a "hit and run." It happened around 8 o'clock on South Travis Street near Highway 75.  Police say they got a phone tip about a body lying in the road.  They say they're treating it as a crime scene and have called in their criminal investigations unit.  Sergeant D.M. Hampton says they're not looking for a vehicle just yet.  Right now they're not releasing the victims name or age.
