ADA, OK -- East Central University men's basketball coach Rodney McConnell has been suspended from his coaching duties after being cited and arrested for allegedly driving under the influence early Sunday morning in Ada.
ECU director of athletics Jeff Williams says the University is waiting for the legal process to run it's course before taking further action.
McConell took over the program before last season, leading the Tigers to a 6-20 record.
So far this season his squad is 5-9, most recently losing on the road to Southwestern on Saturday night.
Meanwhile assistant coach Trey Hendon will take over head coaching duties on an interim basis.
