Sherman Police are investigating how an accident turned deadly on Highway 82 under the Highway 75 overpass early Monday Morning.
The call went out about 3am Monday morning. When officers arrived the vehicle was engulfed in flames, that's when they realized someone was trapped inside. The Critical Accident Investigation Team was notified and responded to take over the investigation.
A portion of Westbound Highway 82 was closed for a short time.
At last check early Monday morning, officials had not yet released the name of the driver who was killed, but they believe she was a 20 year old female. Her name is being withheld pending positive identification from the Medical Examiner's office. The family of the deceased female was notified.
No one else was hurt, the cause of that crash is still under investigation.
