Beating the post holiday blues

SHERMAN, TX - A few weeks ago most of us were rushing around shopping and getting ready to spend the holidays with family and friends, but now that's all over and for some people that can be a big downer.

Experts say it's normal and a lot of people experience some post holiday blues.

They say because the holidays are filled with activities and lots of things to look forward to, once things slow down in January people can be left feeling empty.

Psychologists recommend getting plenty of sleep, exercise and healthy food, but there's a few more things you can do to snap out of the post holiday blues.

"Get fresh air, surround yourself with pleasant things, pleasant music, happy movies, plants, flowers, sunshine, open the windows," said Psychologist, Linda Chlipala.

Experts say if you continue to experience symptoms of depression you should consult a doctor.
