SHERMAN, TX -- A bill has been introduced in Washington to rename the Federal Courthouse building after a longtime former federal judge.

On Friday, Congressman Ralph Hall introduced another bill to rename the building at East Pecan and North Travis Streets after former Judge Paul Brown, who died in November at age 86.

Brown was born near Pottsboro and spent 21 years as a federal judge. His previous jobs included serving as a prosecutor in Texarkana and a lawyer in Sherman.

If the bill becomes law, the new name for the 106-year-old building would be the Paul Brown United States Courthouse.
