ADA, OK-- A small gospel radio station is celebrating a big breakthrough today.
The Ada based Gospel Station Network was able to spread joy for the new year by helping an organization in need.
For more than 40 years The Elna Smith Foundation in Eureka Springs, Arkansas has attracted close to 7.5 million people to The Great Passion Play.
The play is a reproduction performance of what Christians believe took place in Jesus's time during Passion Week.
The organization that puts on the show recently encountered financial issues and prepared to lock their doors.
That's when the Ada based Gospel Radio Station stepped in with a donation to help the production company re-open it's doors for another performance season. The radio station helped production group raise over $75,000 to continue its efforts and productions.
Supporters of The Elna Smith Foundation and The Great Passion Play will work to raise at least $6 million in the coming months to keep the play running.
