BRYAN COUNTY -- Taxpayers lined up inside the Bryan County Treasurer's Office in Durant on Monday.

They were there on the last day to pay the first half of their property taxes.

Taxpayers have until midnight to pay online, which can carry a 2.5% convenience fee. People paying via e-check will be charged a $1,50 fee. You can also leave your payment in a drop box outside the office.

"They can make their payments online, by credit card or by e-check, which is just a debit from their checking account. We have a drop box on the west side of the building if they don't want to come stand in line, and anything that's in the drop box before Wednesday morning will be counted as being in here on the 31st," Bryan County Treasurer Nancy Conner said.

A 1.5% penalty will be added to late property tax payments.
