DENISON, TX--- Shelters across Grayson County are seeing a spike in those trying to escape the freezing cold temperatures. As temperatures dip, many of the shelters are filling. Currently, Grayson County Shelter has no room for single women and has almost reached its capacity for other demographics.

"We are not at capacity at the time, we have a family room available and a couple of beds for single men over the age of 55," Executive Director at the Grayson County Shelter Ashley Earls said.

Shelter employees say they need help to aid the homeless. They say they're always looking for volunteers to help out at the shelter. Donations of blankets, food and other housewarming items are also greatly appreciated.
