ARDMORE, OK-  Leaders in the City of Ardmore and Carter County Emergency Response offices told us that they have plans in place to support the city's first responders in times of crisis.

CATER COUNTY AND ARDMORE EMERGENCY RESOURCE TEAMS SAY WHEN CRISIS TAKES PLACE IN ARDMORE, FIRST RESPONDERS HAVE SUPPORT

"Well our main focus would be to get the resources the agencies and law request, if they are not available locally, we will go outside the area to get what they need" according to Carter County Emergency Management official Paul Tucker.

The emergency management team in Ardmore is the team that first responders would call on in situations such as the crisis in Connecticut.

" We could set up a meeting site or a shelter to direct parents to go to be reunited with their children, we can get buses brought in to take the children to their parents, if they needed grief counselors, we can make calls to get counselors in...just whatever they might need" says Ardmore's Emergency Response Director Amber Wilson.

Wilson says every office in the city has their own crisis and emergency plan that they operate by and city leaders meet routinely to discuss their plans.

"We do have a local group here, it's called the local emergency planning committee, we do meet monthly, we are constantly in contact" said Wilson.

Emergency leaders not only have a plan, but all local responders and agencies come together to practice the plans in place.

Emergency management leaders in Ardmore have been discussing local and county emergency response plans.
