GRAYSON COUNTY, TX -- Deputies arrested two men they say stole presents right from under the Christmas tree, after kicking in doors while residents were away.

Jeffrey Hammon, 21, of Cartwright, and Chance Crawley, 17, of Denison, each face nine charges of burglary. Deputies say they broke into several homes east of Denison and Sherman, and near Bells, taking electronics, jewelry, and even presents from under Christmas trees.

A call about a suspicious vehicle led deputies to the two men on Tuesday night. "They found out there was property in the car from the burglary they had just committed," says Sheriff's Office Lt. Rickey Wheeler. "The two individuals in the car were cooperative and they confessed to the burglary and then they went around and showed us several different houses where other property they had taken came from."

Crawley just turned 17 so he was booked into the Grayson County Jail as an adult, and his bond was set at $45,000. Hammon's bond was set at $90,000.
