BRYAN COUNTY, OK -- Deputies arrested two people on drug charges after chasing them through a wooded area.

Joshua Vaughn, 23, and Samantha Flinn, 28, each face several charges including possession of methamphetamine and elduing an officer. Deputies got a call around 1 p.m. on Monday to check out the area of Oak Street and Vernon Road near Cartwright. That is where deputies say the duo was sneaking into the woods and ran after being stopped.

"While I was in the process of running their names, the subjects threw a red bag and took off running through the woods," says Deputy Joey Tucker. "Upon search of the bag, I observed some methamphetamine, some digital scales, marijuana, and some clear plastic baggies."

Officers found Flinn after about 40 minutes and Vaughn in a house three hours later. Bond has not yet been set.
