CADDO, OK -- Bright flames lit up the darkness, destroying a Bryan County house in the middle of the night.

The fire started around 3 a.m. on Friday, eating through the house on South Arkansas Avenue. Neighbors say it took a couple hours to fully extinguish the fire, and that the residents of the house were in the process moving to McCurtain County, but one of their relatives was staying in the house when the fire broke out.

"I couldn't see a whole lot from here, but it was shooting way up out of the top the whole second floor is gone," says witness Julia Hider.

The man in the house was not hurt and there is no word on what caused the fire.
