DURANT, OK -- The Southeastern Savage Storm look to end their season on a high note in their annual rivalry game with East Central.
The Storm will hit the road to Ada, in what's always a slug fest. These two teams played every other year but four since 1909 and every year since 1946.
It's the Storm that has the slim 44-43-6 advantage, but ECU has won the last two straight... Southeastern head coach Ray Richards knows just how intense this game is.
"The rivalry is a big deal for a lot of reasons. One is you got the KTEN trophy, and that to our players and everybody that's a big deal, it's bragging rights. We're 70 miles away, we recruit against those guys, our players know their players, a lot of them have played against each other in high school so they know of each other. It's the last game of the year so it's an emotional game, your seniors, most of your seniors will never play a college football game again, and you add that to it. I'm not going to say that we probably, they probably don't like us and we probably don't like them. So you add all of those things together and it all culminates on the last playing day of the year and you've got a great rivalry," he said.
