SHERMAN, TX --- The Bearcat's signal caller Dru Smith broke the record for most touchdown passes thrown in a single season last Friday night against Wylie.
The senior has now thrown for an unbelievable 34 touchdowns in just nine games.
His head coach Gary Kinne never doubted for a second his QB 1 was capable of breaking the 8 year old record.
"He broke Trey Carter's single season touchdown mark. And I didn't realize it until after the game. I'm very proud of him, its a great accomplishment for him. And in just nine ball games, its very impressive," Coach Kinne said.
"It was pretty awesome. I didn't know about it until a couple days before. I figured that it would be pretty cool to get the record. I wasn't necessarily shooting for it, but it felt pretty good to get it. I can't thank enough the people around me for helping me get that," Senior quarterback Dru Smith said.
Smith will play his final regular season game on Friday against Greenville.
