Denison Out of Playoff Contention

DENISON, TX --- The word "disappointment" echoes in Denison as the Yellow Jackets were eliminated from playoff contention just three nights ago.

Their backs were against the wall heading into the game, and it showed. They'd scorch to a 14-3 lead in the first nine minutes, but they couldn't hold on. Nonetheless, playoffs or no playoffs, there are two games left in the season, and coach Chad Rogers Jackets want to go out on top.

"I thought we played well at times. We can't give up....we can't let them move the chains on third and long, like we have. We've seemed to struggle with that all year. We gotta do a better job of that, we've got to do a better job of relating it to the kids. Offensively we scored 30 points we felt like it was about what we were gonna score. Maybe we could have controlled the ball a little bit more," Coach Rogers said.

The Yellow Jackets will look to finish strong when they play their final home game of the season, against Greenville, Friday night at 7:30.
