ADA, OK-- The East Central Tigers are back to their winning ways after a 41-3 homecoming romping of Northwestern Oklahoma State.
The season didn't start as planned, but a big personnel change could save the Tigers 2012 hopes.
Red shirt freshman Spencer Bond got the nod three games into the season as the starting quarterback and has given Tigers fans another reason to cheer.
Head coach Tim McCarty says he's been pleasantly surprised with the Madill High School alumni.
"He was just always steady. He's a face in the fan type guy, very responsible, has great leadership skills, never has been discouraged or any of that, he just kept fighting every time that he was dealt a competitive mistake or whatever, he would come back from that," McCarty added.
Bond and the Tigers will get back to work Saturday against Southern Arkansas.
