Free Haircuts to Honor Breast Cancer Awareness Month

ARDMORE, OK -- Most breast cancer awareness events ask you to donate, but at the Southern Oklahoma Technology Center, cosmetology students are donating to you.

Throughout the month of October, the college will be giving away free hair cuts. Customers may walk-in from 8:30 to 11 AM and from 1-3 PM.

The give-away is in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Tuesday, students wore pink to raise awareness.

"The reason why we're wearing pink is because we want people to come in here and ask us, why are you wearing pink? We want them to know that we're wearing it to support the breast cancer awareness and tell them a little more about it," explained second-year student Breauna Hamilton.

Hair cuts are free and other salon services are available for a low cost.

The department offers hair color, permanents, waxing as well as nail services. Most of the services are under $25.
