SHERMAN, TX -- The 114th Battle of the Ax week has come and gone and for the third time in a row.
The Bearcats were confident coming into this year's contest on the road. Their roster is stacked with star seniors who know what it's like to have control of the Ax.
Going out there and taking it one last time is priceless for the upperclassmen.
"It's always fun, we didn't think we were going come in there and lose. And I've won since my freshman year so its a great thing," said senior linebacker Kahlee Woods.
"You know for the seniors, they were freshman when I got here. So I've had them all four years," head coach Gary Kinne said. "It's a special group to me. It's my first group that I've had here that went all the way through. So for those guys to get three wins in a row over there, they also beat them as freshman so for those guys to win four games against Denison, it's special, so I was very proud of them."
Those Bearcat seniors and the rest of the squad will stay at home this Friday night as they take on Wylie East at 7:30.
