GRAYSON COUNTY, TX -- There's lots of excitement at high school football stadiums across the area tonight, but the buzz was louder at one tonight.

The Denison Yellow Jackets hosted the Sherman Bearcats in one of the oldest rivalries in Texas. In the end, the Bearcats won 42-21. 

Even the city's mayors got in on the action by participating in a friendly wager.

Last year, then-Denison mayor Robert Brady donned a Bearcats jersey, because Sherman won the game.

"It doesn't really matter what your record is, it's a game unto itself," says Sherman mayor Bill Magers. "Obviously Sherman has a strong team and I'm rooting for the Bearcats but I'll tell you something, you never know."

In the history of the Sherman-Denison football game, Sherman has won 57 times, Denison won 35 times, and they tied six times.
