SHERMAN, TX -- A man is behind bars tonight after leading authorities on a high speed chase down Highway 75 this morning.  Sherman police say the chase started about 11AM when officers tried to pull over a suspicious vehicle near the 1400 block of FM 1417. That's when the driver of the pickup sped off.  They say An officer fired shots at the suspect after he rammed into several law enforcement vehicles.  The chase ended on Highway 84 in Denison where the man surrendered.

"He exited off at SH 84, pursued until he came to a stop," said Sherman Sgt. D.M. Hampton. "The vehicle was inoperable at that time. It stopped here at 84 and Juanita. The suspect was taken into custody without incident."

The suspect has been identified as Daniel Hale Keigley of Cartwright Oklahoma.  Police say the car was stolen in Oklahoma.  Keigly faces charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, theft, and evading arrest.
