BRYAN COUNTY, OK -- Investigators now know the identity of a man shot and killed last night in Bryan County.

Bryan County Sheriff Bill Sturch says 58 year old Steve Weger was shot and killed at his home around 7:45.

According to Sturch, Steve and Cathy Weger have had previous domestic problems in the past. Authorities say Cathy Weger told investigators that Steve took a shovel to the woods behind the property that evening just before dark.
He then returned at dusk yelling at her inside the house while she hid in a closet.  That's when authorities say Steve Weger kicked the door in on the home and Cathy Weger said she feared for her life and shot him.
Cathy Weger was taken into custody last night at the scene but was later released.  Cathy Weger had previous protective orders against Steve
The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is currently aiding the Bryan County Sheriff's Office in investigating the case.
No charges have been filed at this time.
