SHERMAN, TX - The drive-thru line was backed up for most of the day at the Chick-fil-a in Sherman as customers took part in the restaurant's unofficial appreciation day. Local customers are joining with others from across the country showing their support for the chain's owner Dan Cathy who created a controversy when he said he does not support same-sex marriage. Customers we talked to say they wanted to express their disapproval of same-sex marriage as well.
"Everybody is certainly entitled to their own opinion," said customer Andrea Vogelsain. "It's not about hate, It's just about being able to live in a free country, believe what you believe, and support your freedoms."
The appreciation day comes just 2 days before gay rights groups are planning a same-sex kiss day at a number of chick-fil-a locations across the country.
