Lone Grove teachers unhappy with school administration

Posted: Updated:

LONE GROVE, OK -- Some teachers at Lone Grove schools felt their voices were not being heard at a board of education meeting Monday night.

Teachers asked to address the board to be more involved in different sites at the school. The request was denied by superintendent Todd Garrison, who said that the teachers' reasons for wanting to speak at the meeting were unclear. In a document handed out at the meeting, the teachers struck back saying Garrison's reasons for keeping them from speaking were not legitimate.

Teacher complaints include a superintendent raise while stipends were eliminated, and hiring of unqualified personnel in administrative roles. The board will meet again in two weeks on the twenty-fifth.
