New Denison Mayor Sworn In


DENISON, TX -- A man who is familiar to council members has been sworn in as mayor.

Jared Johnson, 34, who works as an administrator at Texoma Medical Center, took the oath to become mayor at a council meeting on Monday. Two other council members sworn in were new mayor pro tem Matt Hanley and Wilbert Malvern.

The council officially renewed a curfew for teenagers 16 and under and approved the demolition of three buildings.

The council saluted outgoing mayor Robert Brady and council member Obie Greenleaf with a reception. Their terms were up and they could not stay in their same council positions due to term limits.
