GRAYSON COUNTY, TEXAS -- When severe weather hits, the response of emergency personnel is often determined by where they are organized from. Now, that organization, is going to be close to home.
Grayson County will have its very own Disaster District Committee, based out of Sherman. Judge Drue Bynum has been working with the Office of Emergency Management to get it accomplished. "The Office of Emergency Management will now be working directly with the Texas Department of Emergency Management creating direct connections. Meaning, when disaster hits, there is someone from the state on the ground."
The DDC will respond to Grayson, Cooke, and Fannin counties, with the central post being in Sherman, Texas.
