Two New Hotels Create Growth for Marshall County

MADILL, OK--Marshall County is the smallest county in Oklahoma, but it boasts a good amount of tourism. In fact, according to the Chamber of Commerce it's their number one money maker. That's why two new hotels will attract even more tourism and create more jobs.

"When we had our job fair a couple weeks ago and I think we had approximately seventy-five people inquire about positions at the hotels that are being built, so that'll be good." Says Kate Brennan of the Marshall county Chamber of Commerce.

The chamber estimates around twenty-five new jobs for the area, as well as extra traffic for local businesses. They will also bring in bigger crowds.

"We have numerous lodgings in the area, hotels, motels and lodging, I think because of the size of these. Like I said 5 or 6 phone calls about family reunions and high school reunions and one of the ladies she said, and her words were" I can fill up his hotel." " Says Brennan.

Bringing in more people through the area due to the locations and size of the hotels are one plus, another will be tourism packages. Something the community and the county will benefit greatly from. So people are excited. " People are watching out for them to open." Says Brennan.

Good news for the economy in Marshall county and Texoma.
