OSBI PRESS RELEASE: At approximately 10 o'clock central standard time Friday morning, Aubrey Goodson was found safe in West Palm Beach, Florida. The 17-mont
h-old Waurika girl was abducted by her father earlier this month. Several
days ago, the Waurika Police Department requested the Oklahoma State Bureau
of Investigation assist in the abduction.
Bradley Goodson, the child's father, drove to Florida February 3rd. Goodson answered an ad for a roommate in West Palm Beach and introduced himself and his daughter with aliases. The female homeowner was suspicious due to the lack of toys, clothing, and other items for Aubrey. This
morning, Goodson accidentally called his daughter by her real name. The alerted homeowner went to her computer and logged on to the website for the Nat
ional Center for Missing and Exploited Children. There, she found a photo
of Aubrey and information on her abduction. While Goodson was in the bathroom, she took Aubrey to the local police department. The West Palm Beach P
olice Department contacted OSBI about the girl. Agents exchanged pictures
and information about the child to confirm her identity.
As West Palm Beach officers arrived at the home where Goodson was staying, he was seen leaving the area. A chase ensued. During the pursuit, Goodson left his vehicle and ran from officers. Police continue to search for Goodson who has several charges pending.
A private Oklahoma company has donated its plane and pilot to quickly
reunite Aubrey with her mother. An OSBI agent is escorting the mother to Florida.
The OSBI appreciates all the work by law enforcement across the country and especially to the Jefferson County District Attorney's Office, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, the Waurika Police Department, and the U.S. Marshal's Office.
