
NEW MEXICO--After a nearly a week long search, a Fort Worth girl has been found. An Amber Alert was issued last Tuesday for 11-year-old Jessica Smith. She was found with her mother, Kimberly Smith in New Mexico around 1:00 PM Sunday, on the edge of Carson National Forest.
Authorities say the two appeared exhausted and hungry. Both were taken to a New Mexico hospital for treatment. The 11-year-old did not appear to be physically injured.
Jessica was reported missing on February 7th. According to Dallas and Fort Worth media, the mother will be transported to Fort Worth on two felony warrants, one for aggravated assault and another for endangering a child.
