DENISON, TX -- If you're looking for a fun activity for the kids this weekend, try some competitive fishing.
This Saturday, February 11th, the Denison Parks and Recreation department is hosting its 14th Annual Youth Trout Derby. It is for children 16 years of age and younger, and will take place at the Waterloo Lake Fishing Pond in Denison.
The event kicks off at 9am and will last until 11:30am. The registration fee's are only $5 for Denison residents and $7.50 for non-residents. The fee includes a free hot dog lunch afterwards.
The pond will be stocked with trout so everyone will be able to catch a few fish, including the chance to catch one of the "Golden Trout" they put in the pond.
Prizes will be awarded for the winners, as well as door prizes, and the "Golden Trout" prizes.
