ATOKA COUNTY, OK--An 18-year-old Durant teen is in critical condition after a vehicle accident early Saturday morning.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, it happened around 2:20 AM on a County Road in Atoka south of Farris.
The vehicle was eastbound on the road at a high rate of speed while racing another vehicle.
That's when the Pontiac hydroplaned, causing it to run off the roadway overturn and submerge upside down in a creek.
The female passenger was pinned in the front seat for about 10 minutes before another vehicle stopped to help.
The driver and the other passenger were not injured. The victim is in critical condition at St. Frances hospital in Tulsa.
