Texas and Oklahoma Authorities Led on High Speed Chase

BRYAN & GRAYSON COUNTY, TX--Authorities were led on a high speed chase that crossed the Red River Thursday morning. When the truck's engine broke down, the suspect ended up behind bars.

It started around midnight when a Bryan County deputy noticed smoke in Cartwright near Highway 91. That's when a truck driven by 37-year-old Casey Weimer took off through Denison and Sherman.

It ended near Woodlake Road in Sherman when Weimers' engine died.

"Apparently that pursuit went all over roads, medians and heavy traffic places and everything else," Bryan County Sheriff Bill Sturch said.

The smoke the deputy saw was from transformers that were tampered with for the copper wiring.

Weimer was arrested for felony evasion and taken to the Grayson County Jail.

He will eventually be transported to Bryan County and is currently a suspect for the theft of the transformers.
