One local softball star is taking her talents to the next level. Sherman pitcher Katelyn Klug signed with St. Edwards University Wednesday, a Division II school in Austin, TX. Klug's stellar softball resume and 4.3 GPA caught the attention of the Hilltoppers new pitching coach: Olympic gold medalist Cat Osterman. She said she feels blessed to be able to work with a coaching staff like the one at SEU. Klug says she's relieved to already have made her decision.
"It feels really good because now I can look forward to my future. I've put so much effort into finding the right school for me, so now that I know I can look forward to my next four years," Klug explained.
Klug still has her senior season with the Lady Bearcats, but is glad to make a decision about her future so she can concentrate on taking Sherman to the state softball championships.
