Yes, November 16th is National Fast Food Day. Wonder if it was Ronald and the gang or Burger King that came up with that one? Nope! Not for me, not any more.
Every day use to be fast food day for me but I can't remember the last time I "drove thru". I haven't shared my diet in a while so I thought I'd give you a quick rundown of what I've been living on for the past 5 1/2 weeks. I've altered the original diet that Jami gave me a little. I honestly can't stomach tuna and I can't choke down another plain boiled egg. So, I came up with a little variation of what I typically eat in a day.
Breakfast: Ezekiel Bread with either apple butter or fat free cream cheese
Morning Snack after workout: Protein Shake - Pride Nutrition ISO Respect (you can get this at TFP in Ardmore)
Lunch: Egg Salad (I mash up 3 or 4 boiled eggs, add a little spicy brown mustard and just enough low fat mayo to make it creamy. I chop up some pickles and sometimes jalapeno to give it some flavor. I only eat half of this combination, usually as I'm rushing out the door.
Drive to work snack: apple or pear (I'm in the car more than an hour to get to work so this works for me)
Afternoon Snack: I finish the egg salad mixture with another piece of Ezekiel bread
Dinner: either another protein shake (if I'm really busy) or tonight I had a small oven baked chicken breast and the rest of my apple I didn't finish earlier.
Really -- I'm not hungry. That's a lot of protein. I do take a multi vitamin so I'm ok right now on nutrients. This is not a forever diet. This is a right now life alteration to get me where I need to be. I'm looking at this as teaching me control, will power, and restraint. :))
Oh.. and I did go to the gym this morning and I squeezed in 20 minutes on the elliptical at the gym tonight. That doesn't always work with my job/ schedule.. but when it does.. I make it happen.
Here's to hoping I don't blow it next week with Thanksgiving... LOL!
